A Very Pinteresting Friday

Here are some more of my favorite “pins” from Pinterest!  Enjoy!

This tape measure brooch is so cute!

I can’t wait to try out this gorgeous string art project!

I love the look of this art project, and it’s so easy to make!

I can’t wait to try and make this art project too!

And finally, you won’t believe how easy it is to make these cute bud vases!

An Updated Etsy Shop!

Inspired by the new tags I made, I recently took some new pictures of some of the items in my Etsy shop.  Hopefully they’ll be more appealing and eye catching!

New Etsy Tags!

As I mentioned on Friday, I was recently inspired to create some new tags for my Etsy shop.  I’ve used mini business cards from Moo before, but I’ve decided that’s an expense that I don’t really need.  So I made some tags myself  using materials I already had on hand, and it only took me a few hours to complete!

I printed off the Bouncing Ball Creations logo onto colored card stock, and then used Mod Podge to attach some pages from Harry Potter on to the back.  I then used a decorative corner punch to  add a little fancy flair to these little tags.  I looove how they turned out, and I love that I was able to make a few hundred tags for (essentially) free!

A Very Pinteresting Friday!

While I have been a member of Pinterest for many months now, I have only recently actually had the time to start utilizing this wonderful tool.  And, like the rest of the world, I am in love with it!  You can follow me here, but I will also be featuring some of my favorite “pins” here every week!

These paper tags inspired me to create my own tags for my Etsy shop (coming soon!)

These folded paper stars are so beautiful, I definitely want to make some.  The instructions are in Norwegian, but the pictures are easy to follow (plus there’s a handy Google Translate button at the top to translate the site into English!)

I think this paint chip art project is so neat, and there are a lot more fantastic paint chip ideas at the website!

I love this string art piece!  I am dying to try to create one myself!

And finally, not only does this ear bud embellishment look great but it stops your earbuds from becoming a tangled mess!

Valentine’s Day Cards!

Today I wanted to share some Valentine’s Day cards that I made, just in case you were still looking for some V-day ideas!

What do you think?  It was such a quick and easy project, and I love how the cards turned out!

To make these quick and easy cards, all I did was cut out a 3″x3″ square from a dictionary page and a 3″x6″ strip from red card stock.  I folded the red card stock in half to make my card, and then glued the dictionary page to the front.

I then traced a heart around the word that I wanted to feature, pierced my embroidery holes, erased the pencil, and stitched up my heart!

I love how they turned out!  The card above will be for B (notice how it also says Yorkshire Terrier?  That’s a little homage to our dog Basil!)  These cards are quick, easy, and can be customized with any word in the dictionary!  The possibilities are endless!

30 Before 30–#4 Completed AGAIN!

Last January I was able to cross #4 off of my 30 Before 30 list when I got my origami crane tattoo.  Well, I guess I can cross it off yet again because I recently got a matching tattoo with my little sister!  I have wanted to get a matching tattoo with my sister for a while now, and I was so excited when she agreed to do it with me.  This was her first tattoo and she was such a trooper!

We were both tattooed by the same artist at Icon Tattoo in the same afternoon, and even got our tattoos in the same location.  We both got the name “Hashimoto” in japanese tattooed under our left shoulder blade.  (“Hashimoto” is our mother’s maiden name).  The second character is also Japanese for “book” which is perfect for us since we are both avid bibliophiles!

The experience was fantastic, and I am so thrilled that my sister and I have matching tattoos!  This is the fourth tattoo that I’ve gotten, the third tattoo that is actually visible, and I am already thinking about my next one!
