While I’ve never been one to create New Year’s Resolutions, I do like the idea of setting some goals for myself for the new year. I know, I know, it’s basically the same thing, but for some reason I like the concept of a “goal” much better than a “resolution.” So here we go, my goals for 2011!
- Be More Active—I have never been a ‘workout’ kind of person, but lately I have definitely felt the urge to get off of my butt and do something! So I am now going to work out with a work friend twice a week, and hopefully this motivates me to be more active on my own as well!
- Get a Puppy—B and I are looking into getting a puppy, and I am so excited!!!
- Write More Poetry—I loved writing poetry for my class this summer, and I really want to try and keep it up. I really need to set aside specific time just for writing, and also take advantage of inspiration when it comes to me!
- Clean Up My Clutter—I am infamous for leaving little bits of clutter around the house, which drives B completely nuts.
- Go Skydiving—I have a terrible fear of falling, so I’m hoping this will help me get over my fear. And it should be a lot of fun!
Really, these are more like reminders than goals, but I’m excited about them nonetheless! Happy 2011 everyone!

Awesome goals!
…”getting a puppy, and I am so excited!” — The more Jacob and I talk about pets the more freaked out I get. We’ve waffled back and forth many times. One year he had a puppy lined up to get me for Christmas and then backed out on Christmas Eve because he thought I might not be happy with it after all. Crazy!!!
I have “goals” (not resolutions!) too. I put them out on Twitter yesterday, but am thinking of putting them on my blog, as well!
Love the idea of goal over resolution as well. I think a puppy addresses 4 of your 5 goals. Get puppy? check. Once you have puppy you’ll have to be more active, and you’ll have to clean up the clutter so puppy doesn’t get into things…then of course, the puppy will be awesome and consume a lot of your time so you’ll have never ending poetry subjects. It’s a win-win-win-win situation.
