Valentine’s Day Presents

Okay, I’m going to share the Valentine’s Day presents that I made for my friends with you now!  I am SO excited about how these turned out.  I got the idea for this project a few months ago, sketched it out, started sewing, and then amazingly it all came together exactly as I had pictured it in my mind!

In case you didn’t guess from the message I put in the Valentine’s Day cards, I decided to make some cute sleep masks for my friends.

Aren’t these little creatures cute???  I made the fronts of the masks out of felt pieces that I embroidered together.  To make the actual masks I just sewed the fronts to a soft red fabric with a piece of batting in-between.

Here’s the finished Bunny mask.  One of my friends has pet bunnies, so I thought this would be a fitting mask for her.

I embroidered the eyes, nose, and whiskers, and also attached the pink for the ears with embroidery.

Here’s the finished Owl mask.  I chose colors to make it look like Hedgwig from Harry Potter, for my friend who’s a huge Harry Potter fan.

I embroidered the eyes and attached the white felt at the top and the beak with embroidery.

And, finally, here’s the finished Fox mask. The last name of one of my friends is Fox, so of course I had to make her a Fox mask!

I embroidered the eyes and nose and attached the white pieces with embroidery as well.

I love how these sleep masks turned out.  I especially love that I was able to take an idea in my head and make it a successful reality!
