I have now completed my 17th week of pregnancy, within the 2nd trimester. The baby is now the size of an apple, which sounds much cuter than last week’s turnip. It’s about 5.5 inches now, growing right along.
I’m still feeling great! Even the high temperatures lately haven’t slowed me down. I’ve been hitting up our local farm store for fresh fruit a lot lately–especially blueberries. Blueberries, nectarines, cheese, spicy Mexican food, and sour candy have been my favorites lately. Still no super strong cravings, something that B is very grateful for I’m sure! I also bought my first pregnancy item this week–a shaped body pillow to sleep with. Super exciting, I know. But I haven’t even bought maternity clothes yet, so it was kind of fun to buy something specifically for my pregnancy.
The baby is still fluttering away, which is absolutely amazing. B has felt it several times now, and one of my friends even got her hand on my belly quick enough to feel it! It is my favorite feeling in the world and I cannot wait for the flutters to become more frequent and more intense.
B and I have been loving watching the Olympics lately (he, of course is fully for Team GB) and I like to think that our baby is swimming around in my belly, and maybe doing cool kick flips as well.
We are still anxiously awaiting our ultrasound appointment at the end of the month where we find out the gender! Then we can really start planning and buying fun stuff!
