We left a rainy gloomy Salem and drove to gorgeous sunny Ashland.  The weather was perfection!  We also saw two plays, stayed at the cutest motel, ate amaaazing food, and had a fabulous weekend.  My conference presentation also went really well!

After the delicious brunch we went to a nearby flea market and perused the stands.  I found an awesome vintage book and B found a fun vintage pin.

 Here I am checking out some fun flea market wares while wearing a new scarf that I made!  Now that the weather is getting a little bit nicer I am so excited to be wearing some lighter spring scarves.  I recently bought two fun fabrics that were just dying to be turned into circle scarves.

The process was incredibly easy.  I used this tutorial that I found through Pinterest, and in less than an hour I had two beautiful new scarves!

I am really into Neon lately, and these cute neon toe shoes from Green Wedding are fantastic.

And who doesn’t love a little extra sparkle?  These glitter sole shoes from Could I Have That? seem so easy to do!

I don’t own any TOMS (yet), but this seemed like a really cute way to personalize them!

I think I may have shared this already, but I still love these color blocked shoes from A Beautiful Mess!

As I mentioned, last week was my Spring Break.  And, unfortunately, it was a week filled with rain.  But despite of all the precipitation, I couldn’t help but look forward to all of the warm weather that is just around the corner.  I recently saw these sandals on ModCloth…

…and they got my crafty wheels a-turnin’.

So the next time I was at the craft store, I picked up some cute patches that I thought would work with a pair of Old Navy flip flops I purchased recently.

Since the patches that I bought were fairly small, I played around a little bit with where to place them.  I ultimately decided on attaching them to the side of the sandal.

I glued them on using a fabric glue, and used clothes pins to hold them in place while the glue dried.

And then–voila, I had super cute sandals!  I really like the way they turned out, and it was an insanely easy little craft project that I highly recommend you try out!

I took some coworkers with me to Icon Tattoo, and they loved it as much as I do!

We all had so much fun getting tattooed!  I definitely still recommend Icon Tattoo to anyone looking to get a tattoo in the Portland area.

One of the reasons that my life has been so busy lately is that my Etsy shop is getting tons of orders every day!  It’s so exciting and wonderful that people are buying my pencils, but it’s also a big time commitment.  Which means that after a busy day teaching I come home and spend most of my evenings working on my Etsy products.  Which also means that I just have not had the energy to work on many other craft projects.  But luckily I still love working on my Etsy products, so I’m still enjoying myself and crafting every day–it’s just essentially the same craft each day. But I’m already well on my way to 1,500 sales, which completely boggles my mind!

Isn’t that incredible?  I still remember talking to my husband a few years ago and telling him “no one will want to buy my pencils!” while he encouraged me to open my own Etsy shop.  And here we are, hundreds of sales later, and I am so incredibly happy.  My Etsy shop has brought me so much joy, and that is all thanks to my amazing, encouraging, and persuasive husband.  Love you B!

It’s hard to believe that one year ago today B and I adopted our dog Basil from the Humane Society.  It’s hard to believe because we cannot imagine our lives without this amazing little guy.  We tell him this every day–he is the best.  So Happy Birthday Basil, you have truly made the past year something special.
